Green Building Alliance is hiring a 2030 District Senior Director

Position description: As the environmental, social, and economic impacts of climate change are becoming more urgent, GBA has led the call to action through its strategic initiatives and programs. This position will lead GBA’s signature program, the 2030 District, in order to achieve GBA’s goals and maximize its impact for people, places, and the economy. This position will also be integral to providing technical assistance to building-, community-, and district-scale projects throughout Western Pennsylvania to achieve holistic sustainability outcomes. In addition, this position will support GBA’s overall operations, strategy, impact, and development goals, balancing team effectiveness with revenue diversification. This position works closely with and reports to GBA’s of Programs directly manages the 2030 District team, and supports all staff with data analysis and impact across all programs.

Hazelwood Initiative is hiring a Director of Real Estate

Position description: The Director of Real Estate is an essential member of Hazelwood Initiative’s (HI) leadership team, and a key team member in the growth and development of the neighborhood. The Director leads and manages all real estate and economic development activities for HI to fulfill its mission (to be a leader in building a stronger Hazelwood through inclusive community development). The Director will work as a part of the leadership team to achieve the goal of Hazelwood being a strong, diverse mixed-income community, focusing, in particular on: preservation and development of affordable housing; commercial (primarily “mainstreet”) development and placemaking; stewardship of historic and institutional assets; and land use planning.

In pursuit of these over-arching goals, the Director will build positive relationships with Hazelwood residents and business owners and will build relational partnerships with government officials and staff (especially the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh), private foundations, banks, Almono Partners and other property owners, and community development finance institutions. The Director will often provide guidance to residents/stakeholders in need of housing or business assistance. The Director will be involved in planning the built environment for Hazelwood as well as ensuring that community residents have a strong voice when large developments are proposed in the neighborhood.

Allegheny County PA is hiring an Environmental Health Administrator I: Food Safety

Position description: This is administrative, management, and professional work in planning, directing, and coordinating environmental health activities in the field of environmental health. An employee in this class is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating environmental health activities as assigned by a high-level Environmental Health Administrator in an environmental health program. An important aspect of this work is providing consultative services to community and business groups, county health officials, and other agencies in the region regarding environmental health conditions. Supervision may be exercised over subordinate supervisory and other professional environmental specialists. Work is performed with considerable independence under the general direction of a higher-level administrator and is reviewed for conformance to established policies and procedures and desired objectives through reports, conferences, and evaluation of results.

Allegheny County PA is hiring an Environmental Health Administrator II

Position Description: This position is responsible for administrative, management, and professional work in planning, directing, and coordinating county-wide activities or a program in the field of Environmental Health. An employee in this class assists an upper-level administrator in the administration of a county-wide program or complex activities. The work in this class is distinguished from the Environmental Health Administrator I by the variety and importance of the assigned duties and the greater degree of required initiative and independent judgment. The employee assists an upper-level administrator in a variety of technical and administrative activities such as directing and controlling environmental health programs, evaluating results, recommending program changes, sound budgeting and expenditure control programs, tracking grants, developing and updating policies, and effective personnel utilization. The employee directly performs these duties when assigned to administer an Environmental Health program. Supervision may be exercised over lower administrators, professionals, trainees, and clerical personnel. Limited supervision is received from an upper-level administrator who evaluates work for adherence to department policies and procedures and accomplishment of objectives.

Biodegradable Products Institute is hiring a Content Marketing Specialist

Position description: The BPI Marketing function connects identified, strategic audiences with content from all three of the organization’s strategic pillars - Certification, Education, and Advocacy. The Content Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing a vast array of content such as: website content, social media content, blogs, emails, articles, video scripts, public relations content, visual content, brochures, PowerPoints, and additional thought leadership content as needed. The Content Marketing Specialist will work closely with the Director of Marketing on all aspects of content development and delivery, along with strategic planning for the Marketing function and the broader organization.  

The Content Marketing Specialist will adhere to editorial style guides and help strategize around content syndication to deliver marketing messages that expand the reach of the organization. The ideal candidate has the ability to take complex topics and distill to relevant marketable content for varied audiences across multiple written and visual channels. The specialist should be adept at working collaboratively and independently with cross-functional team members to ensure that powerful content is created to represent the BPI brand.

Meridian Institute is hiring a Project Coordinator

Position description: The work of the Project Coordinator focuses on supporting a diversity of Meridian projects, both virtually and in person. This role manages and maintains all project materials and data (e.g., contact information, and other), schedules and plans meetings across multiple time zones, produces internal and external communications, and provides overall administrative support to multiple teams and projects. Projects are both domestic and international in scope.

Grassroots Environmental Education is hiring a Part-time Social Media and Communications Coordinator

Position Description: We are currently seeking a part-time social media and communications coordinator to manage our digital presence and outbound messaging across multiple programs. The candidate should demonstrate a strong understanding of how to use social platforms to engage with target demographics, encourage content sharing, and communicate our mission to the public and potential funders.

FoodCorps is hiring a Program Evaluator

Position Description: FoodCorps is seeking a Program Evaluator to lead the evaluation of our leadership development efforts. This role will be responsible for evaluating the outcomes of three existing programs: the alumni engagement program, a network for BIPOC school nutrition professionals, and training of our annual AmeriCorps service member cohort. The ideal candidate will honor and trust the wisdom of the communities we serve by co-creating collaborative, participatory, and responsive approaches to measuring impact that centers equity and liberation. This individual will be responsible for managing all phases of an evaluation, from design to data collection, to analysis, to reporting, yet in deep collaboration with FoodCorps colleagues and the communities we serve. This position will join the Systems & Evaluation Team and will report to the Director of Research and Evaluation.
