Neighborhood Legal Services is hiring several Staff Attorneys

Founded in 1966, NLS has provided civil legal aid to more than 1.2 million of our low-income neighbors in need of legal assistance.

Mountain Watershed Association is hiring two Summer Term AmeriCorps members

Conservation Field Assistant: Will assist with water quality monitoring (water chemistry, bacteria, and biological surveys); help out with maintenance of abandoned mine treatment systems, trails, and other MWA properties; and participate in outreach and educational programs that include leading a weekly walk on the Indian Creek Valley Trail. Position focused on monitoring, documenting, and improving water quality in the Youghiogheny River Watershed.

Outreach and Education Assistant: The Outreach and Education Assistant will assist the Outreach team with creation and distribution of marketing materials, merchandise sales and stocking, and staffing weekend and evening tabling events. Additional duties include supporting the Education Coordinator during weekly nature programming and service-learning trips, these include but are not limited to: fishing, canoeing, hiking, and school and summer camp program implementation.

Experience: Entry-level / Student

Compensation:

  • April 2025-August 2025 is a part-time position at approximately 22 hours/week. Bi-weekly living stipend ($450) and Education Award ($1565.08).

  • May 2025-August 2025 is a full-time position at approximately 33 hours/week. Bi-weekly living stipend ($955) and Education Award ($1565.08).

Community Partnerships Inc. is hiring a Mobile Market Manager

Community Partnership Inc. is seeking a self-starter to lead our mobile farmers market orogram, “The Produce Cart.” The Produce Cart is a farmstand on wheels that brings fresh produce from Southwestern PA farms directly to neighborhoods in Aliquippa, Butler, & New Castle and other communities, along with cooking demonstrations and tastings of local, fresh fruits, vegetables, and meats. The Produce Cart visits areas throughout Southwestern PA, that face food insecurity and do not have access to farmers markets or fresh fruits and vegetables at local stores, including housing authority and senior living sites, during the summer months. Community Partnership provides the Mobile Market with vegetables from its production gardens along with sourcing local products from local farmers in the area.

Location: Butler, PA

Desired Qualifications: Excellent Interpersonal Skills; Proficient in Excel or Google Sheets; A valid Driver’s License; Ability to lift to 50+ lbs. for set-up and teardown at market sites; Ability to pass criminal record checks/background screenings, drug tests, and PA DOT physical (CDL not required); History/comfort level with driving larger vehicles and/or farm equipment; Ability and comfort with being outside in all weather conditions;

Salary: $38,000-40,000 annually

Millvale Community Development Corporation is hiring a Triboro Food Justice Coordinator

The Triboro EcoDistrict Food Justice Coordinator works directly with community members and organizations in support of an equitable, sustainable food system in the communities of Millvale, Etna and Sharpsburg. The Triboro EcoDistrict is a network that meets regularly to coordinate projects, resources, and connections that advance each community’s energy, water, food, air quality, mobility, and equity goals. The Triboro EcoDistrict Food Committee, in particular, will provide expertise and support to this role. The goal of this role is to connect food-focused efforts in all three communities and improve the reliability of our shared food system. The Food Justice Coordinator reports to and is an employee of the Millvale Community Development Corporation, but will work closely with all organizations under the Triboro EcoDistrict Advisory Board, including New Sun Rising, Sharpsburg Neighborhood Organization, Etna Community Organization, and the Millvale Community Library.

Ecological Field Services is hiring a seasonal Ecological Restoration Field Technician

Ecological Field Services (EFS) is a company based in Waterford, Pennsylvania which performs ecological restoration and consulting work to aid land managers and owners in effective and efficient management of their natural areas.  We work in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and New York.  We are currently seeking applicants to fill a number of seasonal field positions based out of  Waterford, Pennsylvania. Self-motivated people with strong environmental and work ethics are encouraged to apply. 

The physical requirements of this position include being able to carry a 40 lb. backpack sprayer for up to 10 hours/day and working in difficult conditions due to vegetation and topography.  Work with herbicides and brush cutters is typical.  This job requires flexibility in the work week as weather dictates work schedule.  Travel is a regular part of the job and some projects require overnight stays up to 1 week in length.

Educational requirements include a high school diploma and coursework in biology, forestry, agriculture, botany or related field.  Previous field experience in this area of work is an acceptable alternative to educational requirements.  Plant identification skills will greatly increase your chances of being offered the position.  Applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license.

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is hiring a Survey Technician

This position participates in field survey teams engaged in advanced technical work which will require you to operate manual and electronic equipment to collect surveying data for preliminary, construction, final, or other related surveys for engineering purposes.
