Audubon Society of Western PA is hiring a Center Coordinator

Position description: Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania (ASWP) is an environmental education and conservation engagement organization based in Pittsburgh (Fox Chapel). ASWP conducts conservation programs throughout western Pennsylvania.

The Center Coordinator position is Tuesday through Saturday and is looking for a hands-on and creative manager. Responsibilities include; recruiting and supervision of volunteers to work at the facility, coordinating earned income activities including Audubon Nature Store, concessions, and facility rental operations, recruit volunteers and members, and meet with businesses and other organizations to foster strong relationships and a vestment in Buffalo Creek Nature Park.

This position requires you are able to work evenings and weekends. Physical requirements include; conducting tours of the park, and lifting items up to 50 pounds.

Oak Spring Garden LLC is hiring an Education & Outreach Teaching Assistant

Position description: Oak Spring Garden LLC's mission is to inspire fresh thinking and bold action on the history and future of plants, horticultural practice, the art and culture of gardens and landscapes, and the importance of plants for human well-being.

Position description: REI is seeking a Store Sales Specialist to help them create better outdoor experiences by sharing knowledge, giving recommendations, and engaging with customers every day.

Responsibilities include; assist customers with questions about products, memberships, and including special tickets sales, maintain visual standards with store management, merchandising, and sales leads, and support store pick-up, including receiving and processing products.

Physical requirements of this position include; being able to stand/walk for 6-8 hours daily, and be able to lift items up to 50 pounds. Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs is also required.

Ohio River Foundation is hiring a Development Manager

Position description: Ohio River Foundation (ORF) is a regional conservation non-profit which has worked to protect and improve the water quality and ecology of the Ohio River watershed through environmental education, conservation, and advocacy activities. 

The Development Manager position serves an integral role on the fundraising team. Responsibilities include; work in partnership with ORF staff to engage, cultivate, and steward existing, new, and prospective donors, develop major donors, and grow and create event and other fundraising strategies and campaigns, in addition to developing and implementing plans and strategies for planned giving, online giving, crowdfunding, etc.

This job is primarily remote. Occasional site meetings require access to transportation. Applicants should have flexibility to attend special events and meetings which may include working evenings and weekends, as necessary.

Responsibilities of this part-time position include; perform husbandry, training and presentations about the education of animal ambassadors, facilitate conservation education programs, and assist with light maintenance and repair of animal habitats.

Position description: Project GROWS is a nonprofit educational farm in Augusta County, Virginia with the mission to grow a healthy community by connecting all people to nutritious foods.

The Mobile Market Coordinator (MMC) will work with the Director of Food Access to coordinate all aspects of our Mobile Market Program. In this role, you will; gain the skills and knowledge involved in operating a community-based mobile farmers market, develop an understanding of existing federal, state, and local nutrition incentive and benefit programs and how they can be leveraged to support equitable food access, and support the development of partnership-based programs.

Because their farm is located in an area without access to reliable public transportation, they recommend that applicants with access to a vehicle apply. Some weekend and evening work required.

The Southwest Ohio Pollution Prevention (P2) Internship Program pairs student interns with companies seeking new and innovative approaches to environmental efficiency and conservation. Areas of focus for the internship include; developing sustainability programs at Altafiber, create a waste stream inventory for Altafiber’s Midwest business, and evaluate and present new pollution prevention recommendations.

This position is in-person in Cincinnati, Ohio during the summer, and is 40 hours a week.
