Landforce is hiring a Director of Wood Reuse

Position description: Landforce, an employment social enterprise, combines workforce development and environmental stewardship to restore and maintain land and green space while helping individuals get back to work. Being the Director of Wood Reuse is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to build an urban woody biomass campus in conjunction with our workforce development program.

Main responsibilities of the position include: running Landforce’s urban woody biomass campus; purchase equipment and identify and establish a wood reuse site; and build relationships with arborists, municipalities, and lumber market partners.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk on uneven, rough, and unpaved trails, use hands and arms to handle and manipulate objects, tools, or control, and operate foot controls on equipment. The employee may travel to locations in the service area as well as other locations in and out of the City of Pittsburgh.

West Virginia Rivers Coalition is hiring an Executive Director

Position description: The West Virginia Rivers Coalition (WV Rivers) was founded by outdoor enthusiasts who care deeply about the Mountain State’s renowned free-flowing waters and scenic beauty. The WV Rivers Board is seeking a person with demonstrated leadership skills to become the organization’s new Executive Director. This strategic, creative, and insightful Executive Director will help ensure the organization continues to thrive in accomplishing their vision for the future and in setting a mutually supportive and energizing organizational culture. 

Responsibilities include: Lead a high performing and engaged team to achieve organizational goals through impactful programs; Develop and implement a fundraising strategy to secure resources to implement strategic plan initiatives; and Represent WV Rivers by building relationships with partner organizations, coalitions, policymakers, the media, and other external audiences.

The Executive Director will be based in West Virginia. There is significant required travel, approximately 8 - 12 daytrips per month and 20 - 30 overnights per year, including legislative trips, quarterly in-person staff meetings, Board meetings, and funder meetings.

CHN Housing Partners is hiring a Director of Energy Services

Position description: CHN is a highly seasoned, nonprofit affordable housing developer, housing service provider and residential mortgage lender that works with its partners to solve major housing challenges for low-income people and under-served communities. The Director of Energy Services is responsible for consistent budget review of all Energy Services Department programs and implementing continual improvement to develop further efficiency and efficacy for the organization.

Essential responsibilities include: Tracking program delivery, establishing production goals, tracking adherence to those goals, and the goals set by clients and senior management; Establish new and build-upon existing relationships with funders of weatherization and utility programs; and Final review and authorization of all billings, accounts, and program reports prior to submission to funders.

Travel required for meetings and trainings when required by program provider. This is a full time, in person position in Cleveland, Ohio.

The Landforce Work Readiness Manager will work closely with Landforce Crew Members to assess their current career skills, interests, and aptitudes.

Key responsibilities include: Provide holistic and comprehensive case management services to all Landforce Crew Members; Become the Landforce resource on healing-centered engagement, including supporting the mental health needs of crew members and providing Landforce staff with tools to help crew members address trauma; and Play an active role in recruiting, assisting in the process of interviewing and hiring potential Crew Members.

This position will travel to worksites primarily in and around the City of Pittsburgh, but also throughout Allegheny County.

North Hills Community Outreach is hiring a Service Coordinator

Position description: North Hills Community Outreach addresses the needs of people in crisis, hardship and poverty in Northern Allegheny County. The Service Coordinator is responsible for daily provision of services and programs in Millvale CSBG service area.

Main responsibilities include: Screening callers and walk-ins for their appropriateness/eligibility for the CSBG Case Management program; Regularly contacting and following-up with persons in need to ensure progress toward self-sufficiency; and Ensuring that persons in hardship and crisis receive needed services for which they are eligible and advocating on behalf of clients.
