Ohio Environmental Center is hiring a Campaign Communications Manager

Position description: The Ohio Environmental Council (OEC) Collective envisions a healthy, clean Ohio where our democracy empowers all communities to thrive in harmony with the environment. The mission of the OEC is to protect the environment and health of all Ohio communities through legal and policy advocacy, decision-maker accountability, and civic engagement. The Ohio Environmental Council and its family of organizations seek to hire a full-time Campaign Communications Manager to support the growth of the advocacy, political, and communications programs.

Responsibilities include: Create and execute public advocacy campaigns on key pieces of state and federal legislation in Ohio, especially on the benefits of the Inflation Reduction Act; Create content/ resources for consumers and partners regarding policy impacts of state and federal legislation; and Create written and visual content for print and digital platforms.

Candidates based out of Cleveland or Columbus are preferred, but all Ohio-based applicants will be considered. Candidates must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends, and be willing to occasionally travel throughout Ohio.

University of Pittsburgh is hiring a Donor Experience Officer

Position description: The University of Pittsburgh’s Division of Philanthropic & Alumni Engagement (PAE) cultivates relationships with contributors, alumni, and other constituents on behalf of the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC, generating support for teaching, research, and care. The Donor Experience Officer is an energetic, passionate, entrepreneurial, digital-first fundraiser that leverages modern communication tools to express gratitude and ask for philanthropic support for the University of Pittsburgh.

Main responsibilities include: manage a large portfolio of donors with the goal of building lasting relationships and creating meaningful experiences through engaging communications and one-on-one interactions; connect donors to the University, its schools/colleges, campuses, and centers; and solicit gifts between $1,000 and $50,000 annually and develop personalized strategies for increasing year-over-year retention of donors.

United Way of Beaver County is hiring an Accounting and Finance Coordinator

Position description: United Way promotes voluntarism and supporting voluntary organizations in their efforts to provide a better life for us all. The Accounting and Finance Coordinator position is responsible for providing direct support to the Executive Director.

Key responsibilities include: accomplishing a variety of campaign and accounting tasks, including but not limited to areas of the campaign process, donor pledge and gift reconciliation, QuickBooks data entry, event and sponsorship donation reconciliation, donor designation payments, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.

The position requires carrying out a wide variety of administrative tasks and working closely with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors.

Warren County Park District is hiring a Customer Service Attendant

Position description: Warrant County Park District has over 1,600 acres of parks and natural area that are free and open to the public, waiting for you to use and explore. Customer Service Attendants (CSAs) take an active role in serving the community by educating park guests about park rules in a professional, polite, and respectful manner. 

Key responsibilities include: assisting Boat Dock, Pro Shop, and other park staff; servicing and cleaning the park’s reservable facilities; and patrolling park grounds, opening/closing the park.

This position requires applicants to be able to stand and walk for numerous hours daily. This is a part-time position located in Lebanon, Ohio.

Hamilton Safe is hiring a Southwest Ohio Pollution Prevention Internship

Position description: Hamilton Safe is a large scale manufacturer of physical security needs, including vaults and vault doors, bullet proof windows, pneumatic tubing systems, night depository drops, and safes of all sizes. The intern will be given responsibilities that will assist their learning and experience in implementing pollution prevention and sustainability initiatives.

Main responsibilities include: Collect and compile accurate data for scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions; Establish product material composition data for all products, including material and weights used in production and used to ship products; and Research new materials and concrete formulations for use in vault panel, vault doors, and composite safes.

Applicants must be an undergraduate or graduate student with at least two years of undergraduate education completed. The internship runs from May until August 2024.

Electrification Coalition is hiring a Policy Intern

Position description: The Electrification Coalition (EC) is a nonpartisan, not-for-profit advocacy group based in Washington, D.C., committed to promoting policies and actions that facilitate the deployment of electric vehicles (EVs) on a mass scale. The EC works to end the oil dependence that threatens the nation’s economic, environmental, and national security by working toward the long-term solution of electrifying transportation. They are seeking a motivated Policy Intern to help support their programs around the U.S., including their Federal and State Policy work.

Responsibilities include: Supporting stakeholder and partner engagement to help advocate for electric vehicle adoption across state, local, and federal levels; Supporting the coordination and organization of both internal and external events and meetings; and Conducting detailed research on various transportation electrification topics for grant reports, presentations, and policy development.

Interns would begin in May of 2024 and be required to work a 3-month minimum.
