Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park is hiring an Accounting Manager

Position description: The Conservancy enriches people’s lives and enhances our region by inspiring use, preservation and support of Cuyahoga Valley National Park. They believe that Cuyahoga Valley National Park is one of the greatest assets to their region and will protect it, promote it and encourage people to enjoy it. The Conservancy is looking for an Accounting Manager to be responsible for assisting with all financial aspects of the organization, including financial planning, analysis, and reporting.

Responsibilities include: Assist with preparation and reporting of monthly and annual financial statements; Assist with preparation of the annual operating budget by department; and Supervise the bookkeeping tasks to ensure all duties related to accounts payable and accounts receivable are timely and accurate.

This full-time position is located in Peninsula, OH, and requires in-person work. Reliable transportation is required, as Account Manager may be required to travel to multiple locations throughout CVNP on a daily basis. Drink Local Drink Tap is hiring a Marketing and Communications Coordinator

Position description: Drink Local Drink Tap's mission is to solve global water equity through education, advocacy, and community-centered water, sanitation, and hygiene projects. The Marketing Communications Coordinator is in charge of creative management and execution, social media management, and supports DLDT’s annual events in all things marketing.

Main responsibilities include: Develop copywriting and visual content for all our marketing materials to their audience (newsletters, annual giving campaigns, social media); Define organic social media strategy and execution; and Collaborate with their event planning partner to provide marketing support to their events.

Climate Cabinet Education is hiring a Local Leaders Program Manager

Position description: Climate Cabinet Education works to find and support local elected leaders with big opportunities to act on climate. They are building the bench of climate champions in local governments – and getting them the skills and support they need to succeed, while delivering on climate and environmental justice solutions now. The Program Manager will coordinate their cohort of elected leaders, planning events, researching local climate and energy governance opportunities, spearheading technical assistance, and working with partners to build the program for future years.

Key responsibilities include: Plan and coordinate monthly cohort meetings, including arranging speakers, preparing materials, creating meeting agendas, and overseeing logistics; Conduct policy research to support cohort members, focusing on climate policies applicable to priority cities, with a special emphasis on “public power” policies; and Support the Program Director in developing and implementing program strategic plans, in line with Climate Cabinet’s overall goals.

This position is remote, with preference to applicants in the Pennsylvania and Virginia areas. Some travel is required for this position.

Progressive Insurance is hiring a Building Energy Consultant

Position description: Progressive Insurance is seeking a building energy consultant to execute projects that meet their goals of becoming carbon neutral by 2025 and net zero within the next decade. You’ll work on projects relating to procurement of energy, renewable energy certificate (REC), and carbon offsets.

Main responsibilities of the position include: contribute to the Corporate Sustainability Report (CSR); perform research and complex analysis on areas for building decarbonization; and identify market trends.

Clean Water Action is hiring a Community Organizer

Position description: Clean Water Action is a national, grassroots environmental organization that seeks to protect the environment and safeguard public health, promote passage of strong environmental laws, and help communities address local environmental problems affecting them. Clean Water Action and Clean Water Fund seek an experienced Community Organizer for our Pittsburgh office. This role involves leading outreach and organizing efforts for local and state campaigns addressing health-related environmental issues in Pittsburgh and southwest PA.

Responsibilities of the position include: Organize community-based campaigns for clean water, addressing lead hazards, eliminating plastics pollution and promoting environmental justice in western PA, helping residents address pollution problems that threaten their health; Represent Clean Water Action in coalitions and coalition activities; and Assist in western PA on Clean Water Action's national and state campaigns.

This is a hybrid, part-time position located in Pittsburgh, PA. Applicants should have experience in issue organizing and electoral campaigns.

Global Energy Monitor is hiring a Researcher

Position description: Global Energy Monitor (GEM) is a network of researchers developing information for the worldwide climate and clean energy movement. GEM’s data and reports are used and cited by organizations ranging from Greenpeace to The Wall Street Journal. Global Energy Monitor is seeking an experienced Researcher who will work as part of GEM’s Global Energy Ownership Tracker, which is collecting and improving GEM’s data on ownership of combustion power plants, mines (for coal and iron), steel plants, and oil and gas pipelines.

Responsibilities include: Gathering and vetting data, contributing to shared datasets; Collaborating with other GEM staff members across different project areas, to help improve data across several of GEM’s projects; Miscellaneous support for other GEM projects as needed.

U.S. Green Building Council is hiring a Intern, Innovation & Research

Position description: The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a global, nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C., working to improve environmental sustainability, human health, and resilience in the built environment through its programs and rating systems including LEED.

Responsibilities of the internship include: Initiate and execute independent research projects on various topics related to distribution center and warehouse commercial buildings and intersecting technologies such as electric vehicle charging, renewable energy systems, and grid optimization; Assist in report development by managing database inquiries related to building decarbonization, commercial buildings, and grid-interactive buildings; and Conduct a comprehensive literature review to inform future developments of the research series.

This is a fully remote, 20-40 hours a week internship. USBBC is accepting applications for students studying Sustainability, Business, or a related field.
