Position description: The Southwest PA Municipal & Business Outreach Manager builds business relationships, organizes events, and supports geographically-focused grant-funded projects in Western PA, ranging from workforce development projects to educating public officials. The Manager role involves both publicly representing the organization in Western PA and being responsible for “back-office” coordination. Specific assignments will vary depending upon organizational priorities.

Landforce is hiring a Site Supervisor
Position description: The Site Supervisory will lead a Landforce crew by supervising daily land stewardship work, assisting the Director of Land Stewardship in the logistics and preparation for site work, contributing knowledge to high standards of ecological services, and supporting crew members’ transition to permanent family-sustaining wages while setting and maintain a high example of professional behavior at all times.
Key responsibilities include:
Assist in teaching and leading stewardship work as assigned
Assist in developing, supervising, and enforcing Landforce’s safe use of hand tools and mechanical tools
Assign crew roles for each project
Develop work plans in conjunction with the Land Stewardship and Workforce Development teams
Work closely with the Workforce Development team to support crew members’ transition to permanent family-sustaining wage jobs

Upstream PGH is hiring a Water Equity Director
Position description: UpstreamPgh has three program areas: Advocate, Engage, and Plan/Build. The Water Equity Director will work across all three program areas, pulling in program resources as needed, with the specific goal of initiating and coordinating Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) funding. The federal government seeks to attribute 40% of all IRA funds to environmental justice areas through an executive order that created the Justice40 Initiative. The Water Equity Director will work alongside and co-develop projects and system improvements with our Environmental Justice Table, and other recently launched efforts like the Southwestern Pennsylvania Municipal Project Hub and New Sun Rising’s Justice40 Opportunity Navigator.
Key responsibilities include:
Establish strong relationships with existing IRA resource agencies and hubs, develop regular communication and exchange information, and establish the Water Equity Director as a go-to resource for water-related projects in the region.
Host a series of workshops with environmental justice community leaders, municipal managers, and water authorities to co-develop a list of priority projects and system improvements.
Develop a learning network amongst the existing hubs and local and regional leaders (i.e. PWSA) in IRA project funding for water-related projects to break down any barriers.
Working with our Environmental Justice Table, prioritize a people-first approach to funding that is resident-led, learning from their expertise and ensuring system improvements solve existing injustices.
Identify funding opportunities, and coordinate, write, and package grant applications either as the applicant or on behalf of the applicant.
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Experience: Mid to Senior-level, 7 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: community engagement, municipal coordination, government grants, and developing large-scale projects/ideas.

Environmental Health Project is hiring a Development Coordinator
Position description: EHP seeks an organized and enthusiastic Development Coordinator to identify and pursue revenue opportunities in order to help EHP more effectively fulfill its mission to protect public health in the face of oil and gas development. The Development Coordinator will support implementation of the organization’s development strategies, identifying new opportunities and maintaining ongoing funder and donor relationships.
Key responsibilities include:
Assist with grant applications and reports, including managing deadlines and writing content
Research and identify grant opportunities with existing and potential funders
Maintain grant management system; track timelines, application details, and statistics
Work with Development Team to support seasonal giving campaigns
Maintain donor management system; ensure accurate tracking of donor history and information
Work with Deputy Director and bookkeeper to process gifts; ensure timely donation receipts and acknowledgements

Friends of the Riverfront is hiring a Trail Stewardship Intern
Position description: Our Stewardship team is hiring an AmeriCorps service member through the Pennsylvania Mountain Service Corps AmeriCorps for a 1700-hour position (approx. 37 hours per week) beginning August 20, 2024 through August 2, 2025.
Key responsibilities include: The Trail Stewardship AmeriCorps Service Member will assist in advancing a multi-year federal grant Friends received as part of the Pittsburgh Canopy Alliance, a consortium of county-wide environmental non-profits. The grant facilities the installation of 400-500 new trees and native under-story along the trail and riverfront in Justice 40 communities, tending to the health of existing tree canopy, site preparation, and data collection and project tracking via ArcGIS systems.
Additionally, this position will directly support the trail stewardship program in leading volunteer opportunities, conducting restoration work, scouting sites and responding to maintenance needs, and supporting the expanding work of the organization.

One PA is hiring an Allegheny County Lead Organizer
Position description: The Allegheny County Lead Organizer will be part of One PA's organizing department and will lead a team of Allegheny County based organizers to implement our organizing program. Currently this position will continue to carry out our renter power work in Allegheny County. The ideal candidate will have experience in a working class, base-building organization carrying out canvassing and outreach, relationship building, turnout efforts and direct action development. They will have an understanding of systemic inequities, a commitment to justice, and relevant lived experience. They will be collaborative with the other departments at One PA and lead on housing issues. Because no single candidate will meet all of the qualifications, we are willing to train those who show promise and encourage you to apply.
Key responsibilities include:
Trains, supports and holds accountable up to 3 organizers through daily check ins and debriefs
Develops, implements and leads campaigns
Leads research to move campaigns forward
Leads coalition work and delegates representation to coalition tables
Develops the leadership skills of organizers and member leaders
Performs outreach through flyering, door-to-door canvassing, phone calls, text messages, and social media
Plans and executes large member actions such as delegations, rallies, or marches
Implements leadership development and political education plan
Tracks leadership in digital databases
Charts and analyzes membership and community involvement
Works collaboratively with One PA's political, operations, civic engagement, development and communications departments.
