Action for the Climate Emergency is hiring a PA Organizing Director

Position description: The Pennsylvania Organizing Director will work to advance the mission of Action for the Climate Emergency (ACE), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to educating and activating millions of young people to end the era of fossil fuels, accelerate the deployment of renewable energy, and ultimately avoid the worst impacts of the climate emergency.

Location: Remote (Pittsburgh, PA)

Experience: 5-7 years experience in field or issue organizing

Salary/Pay: $80,000-$90,000

One PA is hiring an Alleghany County Organizer

Position description: The Allegheny County organizer will be a part of One PA's organizing department and will work with a team of organizers in Allegheny County. The ideal candidate will have experience in a working-class, base-building organization carrying out membership recruitment. They will have an understanding of systemic inequities, a commitment to social justice, and relevant lived experience. They will have a collaborative spirit and work with the other departments at One PA. Because no single candidate will meet all of the qualifications, we are willing to train those who show promise and encourage you to apply.

Location: Pittsburgh, PA (Hybrid)

Salary/Pay: $48,000-$65,000

NextGen America is hiring a PA Field Organizer

AmeriCorps is hiring a New Sun Rising Sustainability VISTA

Position description: The Sustainability VISTA will serve NSR to support projects in food systems, clean energy, watershed management, air quality, mobility, business districts, and housing. The VISTA will primarily serve the Borough of Millvale and provide secondary support to neighboring communities. They’ll focus on outreach, volunteer coordination, and grant writing to further NSR’s sustainability initiatives. They’ll build capacity to implement Millvale’s new Ecodistrict plan and participate in meetings to continue collaboration with neighbors in Etna and Sharpsburg. Outreach activities will include managing and improving communications systems. The VISTA will attend and present at community meetings and convene and participate in various meetings, training, events, and programs. The VISTA will recruit volunteers, map resources, and develop systems to increase the impact of the volunteer base. The VISTA will also collect data to track the progress of sustainability initiatives.
