Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy is hiring Seasonal Gardeners:

We are seeking a passionate and motivated individual to join the PPC’s Horticulture and Forestry (H&F) team, as a Seasonal Gardener. This is a field-based position is responsible for work relating to management and maintenance perennial gardens, newly planted park trees, and park restoration sites. Tasks and priorities will shift as the weather and growing conditions change.

Work will be performed both independently and as part of a team, will occur outdoors in all weather conditions, and will sometimes require repetitive bending, lifting, or balancing motions. The PPC’s H&F team is active in 16 parks throughout the city, and the Seasonal Gardener may be asked to assist with work in several of these parks throughout the course of the summer.

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Experience: entry-level, relevant horticultural knowledge preferred

Pay: $15/hour (24 hours/week May-October)

Prevention Point Pittsburgh is hiring a Social Work Coordinator:

The Social Work Coordinator will primarily provide support, assistance, and follow-up for program participants who receive services from PPP through the medical van. Additional responsibilities will include assisting with the logistical operations of the medical van, and supporting the contracted medical providers as appropriate.

The medical van services at PPP launched in October of 2020; the program offers buprenorphine prescribing, wound care, and dispensing of antibiotics and over the counter medications and supplements. Other healthcare services will be added over time.

Human Services Center Mon Valley is hiring an Outreach Coordinator:

The Human Services Center Mon Valley (HSCMV) in Turtle Creek is looking to fill a full-time position of Outreach Coordinator, which provides coordination and/or assistance to all HSCMV programs and outreach activities and projects, including identifying and maintaining community partnerships.

The Outreach Coordinator provides coordination and implementation of the Volunteer Income Tax Preparation Assistance (VITA) Program, where over 600 low income tax payers are provided free tax prep services as well as the HSCMV’s financial literacy outreach and workshops for over 400 individuals annually. In addition, the position organizes daily office functions in support of all components of the agency, including technology. Minority candidates are encouraged to apply. Urban Redevelopment Authority is hiring a Land Bank Program Assistant:

The Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh’s (URA) Real Estate Department (RE) oversees acquisition, maintenance, and conveyance of real property and serves as the URA’s representative in the City of Pittsburgh’s public land recycling efforts. The Pittsburgh Land Bank (PLB) is an independent entity with its own Board of Directors but is affiliated with the URA and supported by the RE department.

The PLB’s mission is to facilitate the transition of vacant, abandoned, and tax delinquent property and publicly owned property into productive reuse, whether public use or private development. The Program Assistant is an employee of the Urban Redevelopment Authority, under contract full time to the Pittsburgh Land Bank. The Program Assistant and PLB Staff are under the Director of Real Estate at the URA. THIS IS A TWO-YEAR CONTRACT POSITION.
